Keep the packaging if you have the space: it is the cheapest way to store the piece between seasons and it avoids the compression damage that ruins things in a cardboard box. A soft cloth, warm water and no abrasives covers everything this needs. Harsh cleaners do more damage to finishes than use does — that is true of almost everything in this category, and it is worth remembering here.
