The catalogue is intentionally short. Everything on the site is stock we hold and can describe from the item in front of us, rather than a catalogue we have licensed from somewhere else.
Each piece has to pass the same three questions: is it made well enough to last, can we describe it accurately, and would we keep it. Where a material matters we name it plainly, because 'soft' and 'generous' are not information you can act on.
Descriptions are written from the item, not from the supplier's marketing sheet. It costs us some orders and saves a lot of returns.

Stock is bought in small runs and checked before it is listed: materials noted from the label and from handling, and a note made of anything a buyer would want to know but a supplier would leave out. Where a supplier cannot tell us the composition, the item does not go up until we have checked it ourselves. If a material cannot be confirmed, the listing waits. A short catalogue that is accurate is more useful than a long one that is approximately right.
We do not drop-ship: what the page says is in stock is stock we hold, so a dispatch date does not depend on a third party's warehouse. We do not run countdown timers or invented discounts, and we do not publish reviews we have written ourselves.
Our company name, registered address and contact email appear in the footer on every page of the site, so you never have to hunt for who you are buying from. If you need them in a different format for a bank or an accountant, ask and we will send them.
Every order confirmation comes from our own domain and quotes an order number you can reply to. If a message asks for card details or a transfer to a personal account, it is not from us — forward it and we will confirm.
We buy small runs from makers we have dealt with before, and we do not fill gaps with whatever a distributor happens to hold. That means sizes and colours sell through rather than being restocked forever, and it means we can describe an item because we chose it rather than because it was offered to us.
The catalogue turns over because the shelf does. Nothing is kept listed to look busier than we are, and the number of items quoted on the homepage is checked against what is actually for sale when it is written.
